Sisters age 7&9 Bedrooms in South Carolina Mount Pleasant

Before the project

Recently divorced Dad of two daughters aged 9 and 7 is starting over his life with a new home. He purchased 3 bedrooms 2 bath townhouse in South Carolina. He knows the transition is hard on the girls, so he wants to make their bedrooms special. The rooms are next to each other of similar size and he has a tight budget of 5,000 for the two rooms.

After the project

The youngest sister’s room is colorful and fun with a theme of Unicorns. The focal of the room is the Unicorn wallpaper which is behind the headboard of the bed. The room is decorated in colors of pink and aqua green, with a light-colored wood flooring. The desk is perfect for drawing and painting which is her favorite hobby. The Art station trolley has all the equipment to hand that she needs & there is a place to hang pictures while they dry. The room has already a built-in wardrobe but for extra storage, there is a chest of drawers, a bedside cabinet, and a large storage box for toys.

The older Sister wanted her room to be a space to feel more grown-up & trendy. This room also has a built-in closet but needed extra storage to fit all her clothes and school books. There is a large display shelf with cabinets, storage cabinets above the bed, & a chest of drawers. Picture shelves and hooks behind the door are a great way to make extra space for clothes and shoes and place some art. The chest of drawers has a mirror for her to put on jewelry and do her hair. A large desk is perfect for homework and to use her computer. The room is decorated in Scandinavian-style wallpaper and dark grey paint. The dark brown almost black wooden flooring compliments the room.
